Provision of Services for Students with Disabilities
As a public charter school, Davidson Charter Academy offers a full continuum of services designed to meet the individual needs of students with documented disabilities within the spectrum of the inquiry model of education. Students are taught in classes with their non-disabled peers to the maximum amount of time that their individual education plan (IEP) dictates. Service decisions regarding instruction, accommodations, modifications, and supplemental aids/services and the needs for assistive technology are determined based on the extent that each student is making progress in the general curriculum as proscribed by the NC Standard Course of Study and their progress towards mastery of IEP goals. All students with disabilities in grades 3-8, as outlined in the guidelines for testing students with disabilities, are assessed using the NC End of Grade Tests (EOG's) for state required assessments. All students with disabilities in grades K-8 will participate in District-Wide Assessments as outlined in DCA's Parent-Student Handbook. The assessments are as follows: students in grades K-2 will participate in Benchmark Assessments; students in grade 3-8 will participate in NC Check-Ins; students in grades 4-8 will participate in NWEA-MAP Universal Screener assessments. All students with disabilities will be provided with the accommodations necessary for them to see success as outlined in the IEP.

Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement is a key expectation for all students attending Davidson Charter Academy. It is especially important when supporting the needs of students with disabilities. It is our policy to involve the parents in all IEP Meetings, to maintain regular contact and to ask for your partnership in helping your child study and complete projects.
