You are also welcome to stop by during our Open Office Hours, held every Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, July 6 through August 10. No appointment is necessary. We'd love to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

Open Enrollment Application Period:

​

Open enrollment is designed to give every interested family an equal opportunity to enroll at Davidson Charter Academy. During the open enrollment period (December 8, 2025, through February 10, 2026), all applications receive equal consideration, regardless of when they are submitted. An application submitted on the final day of open enrollment is given the same consideration as one submitted on the first day.

If the number of applications exceeds the number of available seats after the open enrollment period closes on February 10, 2026, a random lottery will be held on February 12, 2026, to determine acceptance.

If the number of applications does not exceed the number of available seats, all eligible applicants will be offered admission to their requested grade level, and families will be notified shortly after the close of the open enrollment period.

Lottery:

​

Our enrollment lotteries are conducted through our electronic enrollment system, Scribbles, and are open to the public. A lottery is held only for grade levels where the number of applications exceeds the number of available seats.

​

During the lottery, applicants are selected at random and offered admission based on the order in which their names are drawn. The lottery continues until all applicants have been selected. Students who are not initially offered admission are automatically placed on a waiting list in the order their names were drawn.

Waitlist:

​

It is not uncommon for some families who are offered admission to choose other educational options before the school year begins. When this happens, available seats are offered to students on the waiting list in the order they were selected during the lottery.

​

If your child is placed on the waiting list, don't be discouraged. Openings do become available, and students are regularly offered admission as seats open throughout the enrollment process.
